A documentary short/series directed by Shirlette Ammons, The Hook explores Black maritime heritage and coastal food traditions through the story of chef Ricky Moore and the enduring connection between food, culture, and North Carolina’s coast. Moore is the James Beard Award-winning chef behind Saltbox Seafood Joint and recipient of the 2022 James Beard Award for Best Chef: Southeast.
