Private Violence examines the epidemic of domestic violence in America through the eyes of two extraordinary women: Deanna Walters, a survivor fighting to hold her abuser accountable, and Kit Gruelle, a longtime advocate who has dedicated her life to helping survivors escape.
The film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and went on to win an Emmy Award and an IDA Award for Outstanding Achievement. Vulture called it “difficult to experience, essential to watch.”
